Subject Description
Teacher in Charge: T. Speers.
This course is focused on developing interpersonal skills in a practical and outdoor setting. Students will be involved in activities such as tramping, rock climbing, orienteering, sea kayaking and snow craft. All students will study leadership, group dynamics and safety management.
Entry Guidelines
An interview and approval by the teacher in charge is required for entry to this course
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$90 for student workbooks, class resources and transport for practicals. Assessment camps also require contributions in order to run, this includes transport, accommodation (hut fees), and instructor costs if required. This normally equates to approximately $350 for the year. A third of this can be claimed as a rebate from IRD at the end of the financial year.
