Subject Description

The Year 10 Music course continues from Year 9 with a focus on composing, listening and performing. Students will appraise a wide range of music from different eras and countries, and learn to recognise and use the Elements of Music. Performing is an important part of the course, and students will be encouraged to perform for the class as a soloist or in groups. Students will also have the opportunity to perform for school concerts, Mahi Toi, Rockquest or chamber group performances. Students will learn about different music technologies and will have opportunities to create music and will reflect on the effectiveness of their own and other’s compositions.
