Subject Description
Teacher in Charge: H. Kersten.
Students will become more familiar with calculating and estimating, using appropriate mental and written calculation methods in flexible ways. They will start to learn algebraic generalisation and representing patterns and relationships found in numbers, shapes and measures. They will learn valuable thinking and logical reasoning skills.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$25 – maths buddy or equivalent or workbooks
Calculator (minimum scientific) essential.
Senior students will require a graphics calculator. Casio 9750 is on the list of acceptable calculators for NZQA and is our recommendation.
A graphics calculator is essential for all level 2 and 3 Mathematics courses.
