Social Studies engenders wonder, enthusiasm and an appreciation of the human, natural and economic environments we live in. While experiencing new ideas and posing controversial questions, students are encouraged to achieve their personal level of excellence. Students look into New Zealand’s identity and culture and the events that have played a part in forming who we are today.
The junior Social Studies course is taught over two years. This course includes many of the key aspects of the of the new Aotearoa New Zealand's Histories Curriculum.

All approvals for courses through this system are subject to satisfactory achievement in remaining internal standards and external examinations. Course Confirmation Day will run at the start of next year, where final approval for each course will be confirmed.
