Students will become more familiar with calculating and estimating, using appropriate mental and written calculation methods in flexible ways. They will start to learn algebraic generalisation and representing patterns and relationships found in numbers, shapes and measures. They will learn valuable thinking skills.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$25 – maths buddy or equivalent or workbooks
Calculator (minimum scientific) essential.
Senior students will require a graphics calculator. Casio 9750 is on the list of acceptable calculators for NZQA and is our recommendation.
A graphics calculator is essential for all level 2 and 3 Mathematics courses.

An individual course will only run if sufficient students are accepted into the course.
All approvals for courses through this system are subject to satisfactory achievement in remaining internal standards and external examinations. Course Confirmation Day will run at the start of next year, where final approval for each course will be confirmed.
