The aim of Social Studies is to engender wonder, enthusiasm and an appreciation of the human, natural and economic environments we live in. While experiencing new ideas and posing controversial questions, students are encouraged to achieve their personal level of excellence. Students look into New Zealand’s identity and culture and the events that have played a part in forming who we are today.
Why is there a gap between the rich and the poor and how are the world’s limited resources shared?
What are the rights and responsibilities of citizens when participating in today’s society?
