This internally assessed Achievement Standard based course is designed to give students the necessary mathematical skills and knowledge to gain numeracy and provide grounding for future Level 2 Mathematics and Statistics study. This course includes content from a range of Mathematics and Statistics strands. Due to its structure it does not, however, formally support a pathway to studying Mathematics with Calculus at Level 3 of the New Zealand Curriculum.
Year 10 Mathematics. Teacher recommendation in consultation with parents/caregivers.

Calculator is required. Graphics Calculator Casio 9750 is recommended – this is an essential calculator for any level 2 or level 3 mathematics course.

Internally Assessed Credits: 16 credits.

An individual course will only run if sufficient students are accepted into the course.
All approvals for courses through this system are subject to satisfactory achievement in remaining internal standards and external examinations. Course Confirmation Day will run at the start of next year, where final approval for each course will be confirmed.
