This Achievement standard course is designed around Level 6 of the New Zealand Mathematics and Statistics curriculum to encourage the development of skills and knowledge required to form a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. There is an emphasis on logical and systematic reasoning to enable students to communicate mathematical ideas within a range of meaningful contexts.
Entry Guidelines
Year 10 mathematics.
A good command of algebra and a proven track record of ability to perform well under examination conditions. An essential for those wishing to continue with the MAT 2 course which leads to Calculus.

$31.50 mathematics workbook.
Calculator (minimum scientific) essential.
Graphics calculator ( eg.Casio 9750) recommended.
A graphics calculator is essential for all level 2 and 3 Mathematics courses.
