Subject Description

This course further develops algebraic skills, introduces calculus, and extends both knowledge and understanding of trigonometric and statistical concepts. It is a pre-requisite for NCEA Level 3 Calculus due to the schedule of New Curriculum Level 7 Achievement standards that support the pathway.

Entry Guidelines

AS 1.2 (Algebra) achieved with Merit. 

AS 1.1 (Number), 1.3 (Relationships) and 1.6 (Geometric reasoning) all achieved.

$32 Mathematics workbook
Graphics calculator is essential (Casio 9750 is recommended).

Assessment Information

This assessments is made up of three external assessments and one internal assessment. Alongside side theses core assessed standards students will be taught the curriculum covered in the AS91257 -Graphical Methods internal standard. The assessment of this standard will be optional for students.
