Level 3 Physical Education
Teacher in Charge: Mr S. Healey
This course looks at maintaining well being for life. Students will evaluate exercise programmes and sports skills drawing on their knowledge of physiological, anatomical and biomechanical principles. A research project investigating a current sports related issue is also undertaken. On the practical side students look at how to improve their skill level in a practical performance and in an off road Duathlon. The course is internally assessed through achievement standards with 16 credits available throughout the year.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$25 for student workbook & approximately $85 for local field trips (dependent on student numbers)
10 credits from the Level 2 Physical Education course or by interview with the Head of Faculty if PE was not studied in the previous year.
Total Credits Available: 16 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 16 credits.

Number of credits that can be used for overall endorsement: 16
Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
An individual course will only run if sufficient students are accepted into the course.
