Teacher in Charge: S. Pimm
Students study a half year each of the following two subjects.
Māori:
An introduction to Māori language and culture, with a focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The achievement objectives of this course are to successfully develop students’ understanding of the Māori language and culture.
Spanish:
Learning Spanish provides links to people from other cultures, locally and globally. In Year 9 students learn how to receive and produce basic information in Spanish in everyday situations. This rapidly growing language is spoken all over the world. A knowledge of Spanish could help you in travel, tourism and hospitality industries and would be useful to anyone thinking of overseas travel.
