Level 2 Drama

DRA2
Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: A. Millard

Students will enter Whakaari Matua, the split-level senior drama ensemble of Year 12 and 13s. It is jovial but incredibly productive, with choices of performance work including a Shakespearean extract, modern plays, directing, and devising. The external exam on a live performance continues to be a compulsory element.

A whole class production off-site at The Playhouse Cafe, a live theatre outing to the Nelson Arts Festival, and specialist workshops are integrated into the course.

While four internal standards (as well as the external exam) are offered as part of this course, most students will attempt three internal standards plus the exam.
