Teacher in Charge: Ms K. Hunt
This course is designed to carry through to Levels 2 and 3, based on music performance, solo and in groups.There will be opportunities to perform at NCEA Recitals, school assemblies, Mahi Toi, Rockquest, Jazz Fest, and concerts at NCMA. Students are encouraged to perform their own compositions and you will be given support to use your music knowledge and music composition skills. Students will gain the skills and techniques needed to perform confidently in solo and group situations with the support of Itinerant teaching programme. It is recommended that students are enrolled in tuition. The course will be preparing students for external examinations ;1.4 Aural skills and 1.5 Knowledge and Conventions used in Scores.
Students will complete the standards below or negotiate other alternatives as appropriate. A maximum of between 16-18 credits is preferred.
